Installation on a Plesk box: advice please

Hi,

I've searched the forums and looked about for some info but haven't been able to find anything re my question.

I want to install this on my domain and while my hosting provider is generally ok about it, I need to confirm whether there are any issues installing the application on Plesk servers.

Advice on this really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Carl, we're hosting company that runs all of our servers on Plesk. We use dotProject for our own project management and offer it as a hosted service so I can happily confirm there are no issues with running it on Plesk. Essentially it comes down to the version of PHP and MySQL that you are running and as long as you are running Plesk 6 or later you should be ok.

The only issue that you may have is with the storage time for sessional data which requires the php.ini file to be modified...which you probably don't have access to and your ISP probably won't want to touch. If the php.ini file has the default time for emptying it's "trash", then using the Timer in Task Logs becomes a bit painful as you'll be logged out after about half an hour of inactivity.
