how to remove tabs under module ?

Hello forums!!
I want to know:
How to remove the tabs under the certain modules ?
for example if i want to remove the tab named forums under the project module,
How to perform that ?

User contributed modules have a file e.g. projects_tab.mantis.php. By deleting or renaming it, the tab i gone. However some core modules like forum are hardcoded. Files on the other hand is not.
