index.php >404

We have been using dotProject for three months without a glitch until last week. Now,:( the index.php gives a 404 error.
The file is on the server and something does flash on the monitor for a second before the 404 is displayed. I can't figure out why we are having this error nor how to fix it.

had you already saw in your server if your start page is set to index.html instead index.php ?

I get 404 errors even when I surf to /project/index.php. I have also tried renaming the index.html to indexOLD.html and it still 404s if I surf to project/

had you already confirm the previleges of index.php?
mine is set to 644

Something obviously changed... can you install it fresh into another directory and see what happens?
