Hi all,
with this thread I ask the community to participate in an effort to raise some funding for the accelerated development of some core functionality of the coming version 3. As the release date of that version is not specified, but resource management is crucial to some users, a combined marketplace project could bring the functionality in a more precise and narrower time.
I ask companies and private persons to write me a personal email if you are interested in participating in funding this project. My emailadress: j.wendebaum AT moba.de
The requirements (i.e. the tasks for the developer) of the project are (mainly taken from the dev site):
overhaul of the dependency system
especially "Setting Dependency Groups" and "Adjusting Dates and Resourcing"
introduction of additionally dependency types
currently, only Finish->Start dependencies are possible. Additionally Finish->Finish, Start->Finish and Start->Start are needed. Additionally, buffer times between tasks would enhance this feature (included as dummy tasks or similar)
Adjusting Dependency Dates on Completion of Tasks
Where a task is within a set of dependent tasks and the task is set to 100% complete at a date which is different from the original end date (< or >) then dotProject should ask whether subsequent dates should be adjusted. If the user says yes then any unfinished tasks within the dependency set LOWER in the dependency than the current set should be adjusted to their new start / end dates.
Mantis Entries 142, 143, 889, 1238, maybe 113, and of course 89 and any additional entries in mantis that correspond to the mentioned entries.
The need funding I would like to raise is at lease $4000, my company would pay (at least) $1000 of that.
The deadline is to be discussed with the developer(s), but shoud be in the first half of 2006.
This call results out of this thread: http://www.dotproject.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=4090
Please feel free to contact me in this matter, I will do the organisational work and start the project in marketplace as soon as enough interest has aroused.
Kind regards,
J. Wendebaum
