It occurs to me, as I've been struggling the past few days with getting access to the free/busy information on our company exchange server via a linux client, that dotproject could incorporate a standard free/busy server. It could auto-populate people's schedules with their tasks, but also allow standard applications such as outlook and korganizer to use that server.
I'm not sure how much would be required, as I'm only starting to look at the standards for this, but it could be pretty slick.
Does this seem like something people would use?
