How to check availability of human resources when assigning tasks???

Hi,

I just started using DotProject and this might be a stupid question...but I couldn't find it anywhere:-(

Problem:
When assigning human resources (team memebers) to a task I should be able to verify the availability of the resource first.

Is there a way to verify the availability of the resource first while I'm in the process off assigning tasks?
This seems a key feature of a PM application, so I assume it's going to be implemented in DotProject....but I just can't find it.

Full resource management such as you suggest requires user-level calendars along with project calendars. These are slated for the v.3 release.

It is planned for version 3.

Is there any indication as of when v3 will be released? I know you can't give me a date....but are we talking about weeks, months, years?
