After Install Tasks Not Working

I did a clean install a few days ago. Everything seems to functioning well acept when I got to add a task, it won't submit. Even with every field filled out, when I press the save button, a moderate sized blue box appears right below the '* indicates required field" test on the top left side. If I repeat the action a tall blue and white rectangular box appears next to the omoderate sized one.

Has anyone seen this? What should I do to correct this? The following are other pertinent facts.

~I installed dotProject using fantastico
~PHP version 4.3.10
~MySQL version 4.0.23-standard
~dotProject Version 2.01
~No Locales are loaded
~The Default Language is English
~Operating system Linux
~Apache version 1.3.33 (Unix)

We're having a similar problem, where intermittently the Edit task blows out all of the tabs into one long page, doesn't allow date editing and doesn't save. This only seems to have occurred when we updated to the latest version.
