Sorry if I'm being a pest: we've just installed dotproject 2.0.1, which is wonderful, and we thought we'd try the helpdesk and inventory modules from dotmods on sourceforge. Unfortunately we have problems with both: the helpdesk doesn't install at all from the module screen, and the inventory installs but gives messages like "Undefined index: root_dir in . . index.php on line 5", and so on.

Reading what I can I get the impression that the readily available downloads on sourceforge work with a previous version of dotproject, and if I want to try them out I have to get CVS versions from either the dotmods or dotproject site.

An I understanding this correctly? Am I better waiting until these modules have stable releases which work with dotproject 2.0.1?

Regards,
Jim McNeill

As far as I can tell, there is indeed no official release (yet) of the helpdesk module that works with dp 2.0

For the helpdesk, I know the cvs version works great (I'm currently using it myself)
There are however 2 minor issues with the helpdesk:
- projects dropdown box isn't populated
- creation date for helpdesk items is set to 00/00/0000 00:00:00
But for both of them, you can find fixes here in the forum.

If you don't find them, then please let me know.

As for the inventory module, I have no idea, but maybe you should just try the cvs version as well.
