Inventory module

Hi all,

We were in need of an inventory module. So i downloaded the inventory module from dotmods and checked it out. It turned out to be a basic module. So i got into contact with Dylan Cuthbert, the creator of the module and asked him whether i could work on the module. As it turned out he is not running dotProject anymore and told me to go ahead.

So i created a tree driven, template based inventory system. One can define a template for any kind of inventory item with any amount of attributes. Inventory items can then be created based on a template. Inventory items have a parent child relation. Searching through the inventory has not been implemented yet. But basically it works nice.

I would like to get into contact with reviewers and developers who can assist or improve upon it. For sure i would like to integrate the permission structure. In short comments, review and help is much appreciated.

Another thing is, i do not know what proper procedures are in use here to share code. Pedroa adviced me to post to the patches area in dotmods on sourceforge. I guess there must be another way to. Can someone advice?

I am looking for inventory module to keep track of computers , software telephone lines and other inventory items that I can define

(I also need to be able to track it by project and company and make it integrative with dot project)

If this doesn't exist I am willing to sponsor someone to develop this

Yes i will pick up the development. Untill now work on a meetingminutes/forms module had priority. I will post as soon as there is something to test with.

I would like to make a suggestion for anyone currently doing developement on this mod. Add the ability to link an inventory item with a contact. You can select the Owner (Company), and the Department, and it would be really nice to include a contact.

I would like to know the progress on this inventory module. I have checked the CVS, and found that most files were older than 12 months. I also tried to run it, and found it very basic. So what is the status of this ? Is Lesc still developping something new ? Is his code accessible somewhere ?

Hi All. I work for a private school and have blown the rest of our IT staff away with the use of dotproject. We are in the process of moving 3 systems into 1.

Hence my question regarding the inventory module. I have loaded it but I am getting the following errors.

sorry about this guys. Read posts after posting this one, resolved issue by updating both core and module with cvs

next question is, how to enter in 60 items in one window. The only way I can see doing one at a time.

wait now i have the same issue that pete did and tried to use the same solution he did, but didnt get the same resolution i still have the errors...any help out there?
