View Full Version : Database connection error in latest CVS

I'm experiencing the following problem:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/dotproject/lib/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 326

I see this when I try to run upgrade_permissions.php during setup. From the interface, I simply cannot log in as 'admin.'

I'm running Debian+Apache2+MySql4.1. The stable release works fine. Config.php is properly set up as are permissions to the database.

Please help.

Thanks.

Latest CVS doesn't require upgrade_permission.php to be run manually. You must run the install/index.php ONLY.

Thanks for the quick response. My permissions are set up with config.php and the files and locales/en folders set to 777 just for the install. Now I'm getting the following errors:

Lodged in Mantis as Bug Report 597 - please follow status there and in the beta testers forum.

I think you've broken your install. Go back to your backups and try again.

I've never used dotproject before. I just did a clean 1.02 install and then upgraded to 2 and used the new patch from Mantis. The installation finished and I can log in and make a project however I cannot add a task. The browser just hangs when I click 'new'. I'm looking for logging...

If you are aiming for 1.0.2 then use that and stop there.

2.0 is in beta test and is unstable, so you are going to have to take your chances. Having said that - if you have a new installation why not just install 2.0 - there is no requirement to update unless you have existing data. I think you may be better to wait at least for a few days until we get a chance to stablise things but if you really do want to proceed then at least get rid of the database that you have created already and start from a totally greenfields site.

You're very early in the beta process and you're not part of the control group unfortunately - please have a look at the beta announcement in that forum to see how we are planning on approach this testing phase.
