unable to change the company associated with contacts

I noticed that with CVS latest I am unable to change the company associated with a contact. (I select a new one, but it never gets populated into the form input box)
Also, all contacts that are users populate the company field in the contacts page with the integer company representation from the users table as opposed to the textual contact_company from the contacts table.

I think the first issue is fixed and the second ... I think it makes more sence to be a number - you can always get a name from the numner. It just has to be changed where it is being displayed.
